2011 International Chicago Tango Fest’s Tango on the Town
ATI's 2011 International Chicago Tango Fest and Old Town School of Folk Music are pleased to announce our continued collaboration to bring you another Tango on the Town, August 24 – August 28, 2011. This year's Argentine tango dance and music festival will include two award-winning tango couples:
Guillermo Merlo & Fernanda Ghi (Argentina)
Luciano Brigante & Alejandra Orozco (Argentina/Mexico)
Tango on the Town presents world-renowned international stars in a personal and intimate format. This exhilarating dance & music fest, jointly sponsored by Old Town School of Folk Music and American Tango Institute, offers something for everyone, with concerts, performances and workshops for both novices and experienced dancers!
Tango on the Town celebrates Argentine tango with a flurry of outstanding events in some of the most prominent venues in Chicago, such as the Old Town School of Folk Music, Chicago Cultural Center and Chicago Summer Dance. Whether you are a novice or an experienced dancer, we guarantee you will learn, enjoy, live and breathe tango to the fullest!
Award-winning dancers and choreographers bring a refreshing and contemporary perspective to your Argentine tango experience. They are extraordinary tango performers and instructors with impressive experience who will lead us on a memorable tango journey.
The fest workshops are divided into four skill levels: Fast Track Tango for Novices, Basics & Fundamentals Development, Intermediate & Advanced. Before registering please review the guidelines to determine which level best suits you.
