Back-to-School Tango Camp

Back-to-School Tango Camp blends elements of eurhythmics and psychomotor development techniques into the Argentinean tango to teach children to dance while helping them build a healthy mind and body connection. Students will learn the three basic elements of tango – musicality, movement technique & connection.

Good listening skills and focus are developed while learning to hear the beat, move to the rhythm and create the connection in dancing with a partner. Movement technique includes improving posture, increasing awareness of body in space and control of balance to enhance walking and pivoting.

We agree with the tenet held by the Illinois State Board of Education that Physical activity and movement can be a medium of communication. In tango, it is essential to understand the intentions of others and for dancers to make their own intentions clear, so students will learn to observe others, listen, act and react. Let your kids take the lead!

For ages 8 to 13
