Dear tango friend:

The 2010 International Chicago Tango Fest will be on August 27-29. This year will be the fifth edition of the original and only downtown Chicago Tango Festival, making the beautiful city of Chicago, once again, The Tango Capital of the World.

The American Tango Institute would like to produce another world class festival with outstanding events in some of the most prominent venues in the heart of Chicago’s Loop, such as the Congress Plaza Hotel and the Chicago Cultural Center’s Preston Bradley Hall. Our goal is to provide our participants with a first-rate, activity-packed weekend tango festival at the lowest price possible.

We have been working hard to plan this year’s festival, and we are sure that this one will exceed last year’s attendance, and as with any large event, we will require the help of dedicated volunteers.

We would like to invite you to join us in producing this event and be a part of the organizing committee of this year’s International Chicago Tango Fest.

The American Tango Institute is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to bringing the concept and the universe of tango, with all its elements, its roots, its history and its applications, to the community at large. The 2010 International Chicago Tango Fest is our biggest event of the year and we welcome all the help we can get, in any and all capacities.

Everyone is welcome, whether you only have a small amount of time to share or are able to dedicate more time to the festival. The fest will include many exciting events, both indoor and outdoor that will require volunteer staff. You do not have to have festival experience, only the willingness to work with your fellow tangueros and have fun while creating a great fest experience.
